CVC's Report for 2023: "Keep Moving Forward"

As we take a moment to reflect on 2023, we acknowledge both the challenges we faced and the significant strides we made towards our collective goal of fostering a vibrant and successful volleyball community, and ultimately becoming the most successful, member-loved volleyball club in Queensland.

A Unique Volleyball Club

Creadaptic Volleyball Club (‘CVC’) is unlike most volleyball clubs. We are proudly associated with Creadaptic, an emerging brand committed to providing premium supplements and activewear. In 2022, Creadaptic extended its mission of inspiring everyday people to become the best version of themselves through health and fitness by establishing CVC and fostering the game of volleyball within the local community. As our governing body, Creadaptic steadfastly supports our club and serves as an instrumental guiding force, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable support.

The 2023 Year

Our inaugural year was one of both challenges and triumphs. Starting with a modest group of 7 members, CVC steadily grew to a member base of 12 by the conclusion of the Premier Volleyball League (‘PVL’), representing a notable 71% increase in just 4 months. CVC nominated one team into the Men’s Division 3A of PVL. This team would later finish 16th in this division. Despite this ranking, we were extremely proud of the remarkable display of determination, commitment, resilience, and tenacity exhibited by the team. Most of our players had been away from the volleyball scene for many years, using PVL 2023 as their first re-entry point back into the sport, yet they managed to secure sets against some of Queensland’s most established clubs. This accomplishment speaks volumes about the character and dedication of our players.

This season has been an enlightening experience for us, highlighting the immense talent within our club and showcasing their untapped potential. It reinvigorates our excitement and privilege to play a pivotal role in nurturing and bringing out the best in our players. As we look ahead, we eagerly anticipate the continued growth and the future successes that will undoubtedly unfold for CVC.

Diversity and Inclusion

Our focus extends beyond the court, emphasising diversity, unity, and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle through volleyball. Our club takes great pride in cultivating a diverse tapestry of players, uniting individuals from varied backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Despite our differences, we all share a common goal — to excel in this dynamic sport and forge strong connections through our shared passion for the game. Diversity is not just valued but cherished, inclusion is not just important but paramount, and the pursuit of volleyball greatness serves as our collective driving force.

Health and Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our members has always been at the forefront of our priorities at CVC. Over the course of this year, we have meticulously established a robust framework of policies and procedures and streamlined our processes, most notably our complaints mechanism. These are just some of many ways of displaying our unwavering commitment to foster an environment that not only promotes athletic excellence, but also prioritises the safety and enjoyment of each and every individual.

Our Valued Management Committee

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the dedicated Management Committee, for their exceptional commitment and hard work throughout the year. I want to also extend special thanks to our valued members, sponsors and volunteers for their indispensable contributions that have played a fundamental role in our achievements this year. Their collective efforts and support have positioned CVC for even greater success in 2024 and we are excited to build on the solid foundation laid by them.

As we embark on the journey ahead, we carry forward the lessons learned from 2023 and will continue to excel and strengthen the bonds that make CVC a unique and thriving club.
